Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Kingsdown School.  The past 4 years have seen Kingsdown transformed.  As Headteacher I am immensely proud of all the teams that have made this possible - our teaching staff, our support staff, our Governors, the RLT – the River Learning Trust, our parents and, most notably, our brilliant students.

Our current achievements include Kingsdown:

• Being listed in the nation’s top 2% of most improved schools for Progress 8 [a value added measure] - August 2019
• Securing the Ofsted judgement of Good in every category – January 2020
• Being shortlisted [8 out of 2350 schools] in the nation’s “Best Secondary School of the Year award” – TES - July 2021

And we have so many more ambitious and creative plans for the future.

Kingsdown is a mixed 11–16 Secondary School located in Stratton St Margaret, Swindon.  We offer a vibrant learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities.

Our school culture is underpinned by the Kingsdown BEATs in which each and every student is encouraged and supported to live up to our 6 BEATs with their requirements of Pride & Ambition, Stretch & Challenge, and Respect & Responsibility and in all they do.

The powerhouse behind our collective vision for Kingsdown lies in our school leaders, teachers and professional support staff.  They are truly world-class.  Our teachers combine a high level of academic expertise with excellent teaching skills and a deep concern for the wellbeing of each and every student.
