“The more you practice, the better you get, the more freedom you have to create” - Jocko Willink

From: Penhill
Occupation: Combat Engineer
Class of: 2011

After leaving Kingsdown I craved a job that would be exciting and challenging so naturally I applied to join the British Army. I started Basic Training in 2015 and upon completion of Phase one training I entered into the Corps of Royal Engineers and went on to become a qualified combat engineer at the Royal School of Military Engineering, Gibraltar Barracks in Surrey.

My specialist trade is Digital Communications Technician, however, as dynamic as the Army is I have since specialised in Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Search. I have deployed all over the world including Denmark, Germany, Canada, USA just to name a few.

Kingsdown armed me with some great skills and knowledge that really helped me with life after school. The Army enabled me to build on those skills and become the person I am today
